The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, confirmed today, Saturday, that the agency is the backbone of aid operations in the Gaza Strip.
Lazzarini said in a press statement: We continue to work to provide health care and education to Palestinian refugees in the West Bank.
He added: The Palestinian refugee issue will not be resolved as a political issue by getting rid of UNRWA, but rather the problem may become more complicated.
