London - Saba:
Oxfam and Doctors Without Borders condemned Israel's decision to stop humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, starting yesterday, Sunday, and expressed their rejection of using relief as a "bargaining chip and a tool of war."
The British charity Oxfam pointed out, in a statement via the "X" platform last night, that the Israeli move comes at the beginning of the month of Ramadan.
It added that stopping the entry of aid is "a reckless act of collective punishment prohibited under international humanitarian law."
The organization stressed that aid is "a basic right for civilians who have urgent needs, and is not a bargaining chip."
Meanwhile, Doctors Without Borders condemned Israel's position via the "X" platform yesterday, Sunday, and said that "humanitarian aid should never be used as a tool of war."
It stressed that the Palestinians in Gaza "still urgently need a significant increase in humanitarian supplies."
