Scientists from Russia's Astrakhan University have developed an innovative system for moving MBU-3000/170 drilling rigs using sliding technology, which enhances oil extraction efficiency.

This system allows the drilling rig to be moved without the need to disassemble it, reducing costs and shortening the time between well drillings.

Previously, the rig had to be disassembled and moved after each well was drilled, causing delays of up to several days. With the new system, the rig can be moved several meters in half a day using a metal surface lubricated with an anti-friction material, which speeds up the process and reduces costs.
