For 18th time: Netanyahu appears in court regarding corruption charges against him

Occupied Quds - Saba:
Israeli Prime Minister and war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu appeared before the Tel Aviv District Court on Monday to respond to the corruption charges against him.

Israeli Army Radio reported that this is the 18th time Netanyahu has appeared in court (since December 10, 2024).

Two weeks ago, the court set the number of sessions it will hold for Netanyahu at 24, meaning six sessions remain.

The charges in "Case 4000" relate to providing favors to the former owner of the Israeli Walla news website, Shaul Elovitch, who was also an official at the Bezeq telecommunications company, in exchange for positive media coverage.

Netanyahu's trial resumed last December, with his first two appearances on December 11 and 12. His third appearance was on December 16, his fourth on December 18, and his fifth on December 23.

Netanyahu faces charges of corruption, bribery, and breach of trust in three corruption cases known as "Case 1000," "Case 2000," and the more serious "Case 4000." Former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit filed the indictment in late November 2019.

"Case 1000" concerns Netanyahu and members of his family receiving expensive gifts from wealthy businessmen in exchange for favors and assistance to these figures in various fields.

"Case 2000" concerns Netanyahu's alleged negotiation with Arnon Mozes, publisher of the privately owned Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, to secure positive media coverage.

Netanyahu's trial in these cases began in 2020 and is still ongoing. He denies the charges, claiming they are a "political campaign aimed at ousting him."
