Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates for International Cooperation Ismail al-Mutawakel on Wednesday visited "Karama" children's shelter, part of the National Program to address the Phenomenon of Begging.
Al-Mutawakel received a briefing from Executive Director of the program Yasser Sharaf al-Din about the shelter's services, which include shelter, training, rehabilitation, education, and healthcare.
The program aims to rehabilitate children affected by begging and empower their families through economic programs.
The Undersecretary also visited the Yemeni-Chinese Institute of Technical and Applied Sciences, where he reviewed training programs for beneficiaries of the National Program.
Dean Abdrabuh al-Talu' explained that 40 beneficiaries are receiving training in auto electrical and solar energy maintenance, equipping them for employment.
Al-Mutawakel praised the program's efforts to rehabilitate and integrate these individuals into the workforce, providing them with sustainable livelihoods.
