New York - Saba:
The White House froze $2.2 billion in aid to Harvard on Monday because the prestigious American university refused to meet conditions set by President Donald Trump to, what he claimed, eliminate anti-Semitism on campus.
Shortly after the university published a letter to its students and staff announcing its refusal to meet the Trump administration's conditions for changing its policies in the areas of governance, hiring, and student admissions, the U.S. Department of Education said in a statement that "the disruption that has plagued education on campuses in recent years is unacceptable. The harassment of Jewish students is intolerable."
The statement added that "the Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism announced a multi-year freeze on $2.2 billion in aid."
