The UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Palestine, Francesca Albanese, called on Wednesday for the Palestinians to be allowed to enjoy the right to self-determination.
In press statements, Albanese said, "It is wrong to allow "Israel" to continue to control in Gaza or continue to rule in the West Bank."
Albanese described the genocidal war on Gaza Strip as "the most sadistic and militarized" since the end of World War II in 1945, explaining that "people are killed in tens and hundreds in a matter of hours, and nothing is left."
The UN rapporteur stressed that the facts on the Palestinian land are very tragic, and the illegitimacy of the occupation and the associated infrastructure is becoming more and more evident.
She explained that ethnic cleansing has been a constant feature of Palestinian life under occupation since the Palestinian Nakba in 1948 until today in various forms.
Albanese noted that international law obliges all member states not to recognize the consequences of illegal occupation.
