Madrid - Saba:
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced on Tuesday the allocation of investments exceeding 10 billion euros to boost military spending to 2% of Spain's GDP by 2029, in line with NATO requirements.
During a press conference following a cabinet meeting, Sánchez explained that this step comes in response to Spain's commitments to its allies, citing increasing pressure from the United States and NATO to achieve this goal.
He emphasized that the investments will be implemented without increasing taxes, impacting social spending, or increasing the public deficit, reflecting the government's commitment to fiscal and social balance.
