New Delhi - Saba:
The Indian Army announced the death of one of its soldiers in an exchange of fire with a number of militants in the Udhampur district of Kashmir.
The army said in a statement carried by the Indian NDTV channel on Thursday that the exchange of fire occurred while a joint force of the army and police was conducting an operation based on intelligence information indicating the presence of militants in the district.
This comes two days after at least 26 people were killed in an attack targeting a group of tourists in the Pesaran Valley in southern Kashmir. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
