Taiz - Saba:
The Health and Environment Office in Taiz Governorate today handed over the site of the Taiz General Hospital extensions project to the contractor to begin implementation. The project, which costs $700,000, is supported by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Holland.
The extensions consist of medical offices, an emergency clinic for high-risk pregnant women, a mental health clinic, an isolation and immunization department, and a hospital kitchen.
During the handover, the office director, Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Mutawakil, praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Health and Environment, the leadership of the local authority, the Fourth Military Region, and the role of the Dutch organization in supporting the health sector in the governorate.
The handover was attended by the Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Khaled; the Director General of Taiz General Hospital, Dr. Al-Muntaser Ali Saeed; the MSF project coordinator in Taiz-Al-Hawban, Yvonne Boujala; and the Ministry of Health and Environment engineer, Zakaria Mohammed Hussein.
