Zurich - Saba:
FIFA announced the suspension of seven Egyptian clubs during the 2025 summer transfer window, due to lawsuits filed against them by former players and coaches.
The suspended clubs include Zamalek, Pyramids, Ismaily, Pharco, Wadi Degla, Aswan, and Eastern Company. FIFA did not disclose details of the cases other than confirming the existence of violations that warranted punishment.
Zamalek SC confirmed receiving an official notification from FIFA regarding the suspension of registration due to outstanding financial dues owed to former Moroccan player Khalid Boutaib. These dues amount to approximately €983,000, out of a total amount estimated at approximately €2.4 million.
Amr Adham, a member of the Zamalek Board of Directors, explained that the club will pay the remaining dues in the coming period to lift the suspension before the registration period opens for the new season.
