Taiz - SABA:
A meeting in Taiz governorate chaired by Deputy Governor for Development Affairs Abdulwase Al-Shamsi discussed mechanisms to enhance the performance of the multipurpose Jabal Habashi Agricultural Cooperative Association.
The meeting addressed aspects related to identifying competitive agricultural advantages and crops cultivated in the district such as corn.
It emphasized conducting a livestock census in the district entering agricultural expansion project data into the system preparing the district's development plan according to value chains and expanding participation in the cooperative.
Deputy Governor Al-Shamsi stressed that reviewing the association's activities comes within the framework of the governorate local authority's plan to visit associations in districts aimed at reviving and strengthening their role and addressing difficulties to enable them to participate in planning and implementing development projects.
For their part Taiz Agriculture Sector official Engineer Abdullah Al-Jundi and Deputy Director of the Social Affairs Office Qaid Al-Nahhal highlighted the cooperative association's important role in utilizing available resources and opportunities in the district to advance the economic aspect and achieve self-sufficiency.
Bonyan Foundation coordinator in the governorate Iyad Awah stressed the vital role of cooperative associations in developing the agricultural sector by encouraging collective work and providing guidance to help improve farmers' living standards enhance productivity and improve crop quality
