Gaza – Saba:
Kazem Abu Khalaf, spokesperson for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Palestine, said on Thursday that the Gaza Strip has become "the worst place in the world for children," in light of the ongoing aggression and catastrophic humanitarian conditions resulting from the genocidal crime committed by the Israeli enemy army.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Abu Khalaf explained that "children are being killed en masse" in the Strip, noting that the number of child victims is increasing daily, at a time when the population lacks the most basic necessities of life, including food, water, and healthcare.
Abu Khalaf emphasized that the humanitarian aid reaching the Strip is completely insufficient, emphasizing that "what is required is the rapid entry of aid into Gaza in large quantities, through more than one crossing, to meet the urgent and growing needs of the population, especially children."
The UNICEF spokesperson called for urgent international action to stop the violations against children, ensure the protection of civilians, and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid without delay or restrictions.
It is worth noting that cases of malnutrition and famine are arriving at hospitals in Gaza at any given moment. 900,000 children in Gaza are suffering from hunger, 70,000 of whom have reached a state of malnutrition, according to international organizations.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 61,258 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 152,045 others. This is a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still buried under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulance and rescue crews.
