London - Saba: British authorities announced on Wednesday, that they evacuated Birmingham Airport in the center of the country after spotting a suspicious vehicle.
Agence France-Presse quoted the police in a statement, saying: "Birmingham Airport was evacuated and all flights were suspended after a suspicious vehicle was reported." Noting that "police personnel are currently deployed at the site."
The police explained that "the evacuation decision is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and employees" and advised passengers not to go to the airport at this stage.
