The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to refer the events of the match between Algeria's USMA of and Senegal's Garaaf in the Confederation Cup to investigation.
According to (Russia Today), today, Monday, the federation issued an official statement, saying, "CAF is aware of the incident that occurred during the meeting held yesterday, Sunday, in Senegal, and has referred the case to the competent authorities to continue investigations and determine responsibilities."
Players of Algeria's USMA were physically assaulted by fans of Senegalese club Garraf after the end of their match on Sunday in the second round of the Confederation Cup.
Injuries were reported among the Algerian team's players, with reports indicating that Senegalese security could not prevent the attacks.
Algerian club USMA issued an official statement on its official page denouncing the events that took place on Sunday, following the team's second round of the African Confederation Cup match against Senegal's Jaraaf.
