The Amran Water Basin Committee, chaired by Governor Dr. Faisal Jaaman, discussed today's applications for licenses to drill and deepen several water wells in the basin.
The meeting reviewed the files of eight requests submitted by several citizens to dig new wells and deepen the precedent in the districts of Raydah, Jabal Yazid, and Amran.
The committee approved three requests for drilling new wells and one deepening request for their conformity with the technical procedures of the Water Law and the Amran Basin, taking into account the committee's observations therein, the committee rejected the rest of the requests violating the procedures.
The committee also approved the prohibition of drilling in the water campus of the wells of the Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in Amran.
