Sana'a - Saba:
The qualification and capacity-building course for leaders of development associations in Sa'afan district of Sana'a province concluded on Thursday.
This initiative, part of a broader program funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, aimed to enhance the skills and capabilities of local leaders in various districts of the governorate.
Organized by the Social Affairs and Labor Office in partnership with the Western Sector Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Association and the local authority, the 10-day course was implemented by Bunyan Foundation and Bunyan Academy for Training and Rehabilitation.
Eighteen participants from administrative bodies of the district's development associations took part, gaining essential knowledge in management, planning, guidance, evaluation, and financial systems in line with development work methodologies.
At the conclusion of the course, Sa'afan district director Mohammed al-Bahr emphasized the significance of these trainings in fostering a development revolution within the district.
He highlighted the importance of applying the acquired knowledge to strengthen local communities and support sustainable development in the face of ongoing challenges due to the continuing aggression and siege.
In the closing ceremony, speakers underscored the vital role of development associations in addressing societal needs. They also called for a concerted effort between official and community groups to achieve self-reliance and bolster food security, especially in agriculture and community services.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the course, noting that it significantly improved their understanding of development association work and its link to community-driven agricultural and service initiatives. The event concluded with a ceremony where participants received certificates of completion.
The ceremony was also attended by Colonel Abdulkarim Ba’alawi, Director of Security of the district, Salim Awadhan, Deputy Head of the Agricultural Sector, and other local officials.
