The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday, that its forces have managed to take control of a new town in eastern Ukraine and eliminate 705 Ukrainian soldiers.
The ministry clarified in a statement regarding the progress of the Russian military operation in Ukraine that units from the Russian Central Group of Forces took control of the town of Dashinskoye in Donetsk, improved the tactical situation, continued to advance deep into the defenses of the Ukrainian forces, and targeted personnel and equipment belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Additionally, 14 counterattacks launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces were repelled, resulting in the elimination of 705 soldiers.
It added that 12 missiles and 115 drones were also shot down, and three bombs, four tanks, and seven vehicles were destroyed.
Earlier today, Ukraine announced that the number of Russian military casualties since the beginning of the military operation on February 24, 2022, has risen to approximately 798,040 soldiers.
