Gaza - Saba:
Humanitarian conditions in Gaza are still catastrophic, 16 days after the announcement of the ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian factions and the Zionist enemy, the Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement on Monday.
In a statement on Monday, the Observatory said that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip is worsening, noting that there is no tangible change in the humanitarian reality despite the ceasefire.
The Observatory indicated that although there has been an increase in the number of trucks entering Gaza, it turns out that some of them are merchants' goods for non-essential items, which are not a priority for the residents of the Gaza Strip.
The Observatory's statement pointed out that about 8,500 trucks have arrived in the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire came into effect, only 35% of which reached the northern Gaza Strip, which means that what reached the Gaza Strip represents less than half of the daily need.
The Observatory pointed out that only 9,500 tents have arrived, most of which are of poor quality, while the initial need was estimated at 120,000 tents, which means that the tents that have arrived do not exceed 8% of the total emergency need.
Euromed emphasized that the urgent need for fuel and gas to support emergency services amounts to 30 trucks per day, and what has already arrived is 14 trucks per day.
The Observatory's statement stressed that the continued inaction and disregard for the entry of essential needs increases the suffering of Palestinian civilians and deepens the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which calls for international solidarity and urgent action to ensure that support reaches those in need without delay.
