The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms "MADA" documented a total of 102 violations against media freedoms in Palestine during the month of January, a decrease of 0.9 percent from December 2024.
The Palestinian Media Center quoted the center in a statement, saying: The violations last January were distributed among 82 crimes and violations committed by Zionist parties, 18 attacks committed by Palestinian parties in the West Bank, and two attacks committed by social media companies.
MADA Center monitored nine physical violations, six of which occurred in Gaza Strip, Jenin and Tulkarm, including injuries, a verbal assault in Jenin camp, and a beating in occupied Al-Quds.
The Zionist enemy authorities arrested two journalists during the month of January: journalist Abdullah Maatan, who was arrested while trying to travel through "Karama" crossing, and journalist Farah Abu Ayyash, who was released the next day.
The Palestinian Center documented 21 violations consisting of preventing coverage in the West Bank, and 22 targets to prevent coverage; three of them occurred in Gaza Strip, in addition to the destruction of five journalists' houses by Zionist missiles in Gaza Strip.
