President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on Monday sent a congratulatory cable to President Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, which read:
"I congratulate Your Excellency on the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Iranian Islamic Revolution and through you to your dear people.
The victory of the Iranian Revolution under the leadership of Imam Khomeini - may God have mercy on him - is a historic event through which Iran regained its regional and international position from a position of pride, dignity, sovereignty and independence, and with it the Palestinian cause regained its value with the attention it received from the Islamic Revolution and its exceptional leadership.
While we appreciate your firm and steadfast positions towards the central issue of the nation and support for the resistance movements in Palestine and Lebanon, we affirm our full solidarity with you in confronting the Zionist-American hegemony that seeks in vain to harm the Islamic Republic by imposing unjust sanctions targeting the dear Iranian people.
Revolutionary Iran will remain a role model for peoples aspiring to freedom and dignity away from the control of arrogant foreign powers.
As we reiterate our congratulations to Your Excellency, we renew our country's keenness to strengthen relations between our two countries for the benefit of our peoples and the peoples of our Islamic nation, hoping for further progress, strength and power for the Islamic Republic."
