The annual inflation rate in the United States rose last month at a higher pace than expected, and the index reached 3% in January 2025.
The US Department of Labor said in a statement Wednesday that consumer prices in the United States rose by three percent last January.
For comparison, the index recorded a reading of 2.9% last December.
The average analysts' expectations for the inflation rate in January were 2.9%, according to Bloomberg.
