Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mohammed al-Muwalad on Monday inspected the readiness of al-Dhurafi Stadium restoration and turfing project for its official handover.
Accompanied by Undersecretaries Ali Hadban and Ramzi al-Aghbari, the Minister received a briefing on the project's completion and readiness for use.
During the inspection, al-Muwalad emphasized the need to assess the stadium's requirements for complementary works, including facilities for sports teams, in coordination with the Youth and Sports Office in Sana'a.
He stressed the importance of preparing the facility for its opening in the near future.
To ensure the stability of the new turf before hosting major competitions, he directed the launch of a football championship for talented youth and junior players.
This championship will serve as a testing ground for the stadium's surface before it hosts youth and senior men's competitions, as recommended by the project's implementation team.
