The government media office in Gaza said that more than 61 thousand people were killed in the Zionist war of extermination in the Strip, which also caused the displacement of more than two million Palestinians from their homes.
The office explained that the number of martyrs exceeded 48 thousand who arrived at hospitals, while more than 14 thousand remained missing under the rubble or on the roads, and the number of wounded exceeded 111 thousand.
It added that the number of those arrested by the occupation exceeded 6 thousand detainees "who are subjected to the most heinous forms of abuse and various types of torture, and dozens of them were martyred under torture, while forced displacement affected more than two million people, some of whom were displaced more than 25 times in conditions lacking services."
Women, Children and Families
One of the prominent headlines of the Zionist war of extermination was the targeting of children and women. Among the martyrs were 17,881 children, including 214 infants who were born and died during the aggression, and more than 38,000 children were orphaned, including 17,000 children who lost both parents, while the occupation killed 12,316 women.
He continued that the occupation committed more than 9,268 massacres against families during the war, which led to the erasure of data and the complete extermination of 2,092 families from the civil registry, while the occupation killed 4,889 families and left only one individual "to suffer the bitterness of loss and the pain of separation."
The occupation also killed 1,155 medical personnel, 205 journalists and 194 civil defense personnel, while more than 150,000 housing units were damaged in the Gaza Strip during the war.
The media office confirmed that the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip put about 34 hospitals out of service in the Strip, while the losses of the transportation sector due to the war amounted to more than one and a half billion dollars.
In the education sector, 1,661 educational facilities were damaged, including 927 schools, universities, kindergartens and educational centers that were completely destroyed, and 734 educational facilities were partially damaged, while the occupation killed 12,800 students and about 800 educational cadres, and 785,000 students were deprived of continuing their education at various educational levels.
The government media office declared the Gaza Strip a humanitarian disaster area, where all the necessities of life and human livelihoods are absent, which places the responsibility on the international community and its various organizations to urgently and quickly intervene to save more than 2.4 million people who are at risk of death from hunger, thirst, cold and disease.
The office held the occupation, the administration of former US President Joe Biden, and everyone who provided any form of political, economic, or military support to the occupation responsible for this humanitarian tragedy experienced by the Palestinian people.
He stressed that the plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip in its various stages and required needs has been formulated in partnership between government institutions and civil society institutions and informed international institutions, and "we demand the speedy implementation of the required interventions in terms of urgent relief and rapid shelter, most notably a thousand tents, 60 thousand mobile homes, and all shelter requirements."
