A massive fire broke out yesterday in the Beni Makada area of Tangier, Morocco, consuming a commercial market and causing severe financial losses to traders, though no human casualties were reported.
According to eyewitnesses, the flames spread rapidly, engulfing numerous shops, while thick smoke covered the sky, sparking panic and fear among traders and passersby.
Authorities described the fire as unexpected, forcing many shop owners to flee to escape the raging flames that destroyed their properties and sources of livelihood.
Firefighting teams, as reported by *Russia Today*, intervened promptly to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighboring areas. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the main cause of the incident.
This market is considered one of the most important popular markets in the city and serves as a primary source of income for many families, making the losses a severe blow to the local economy.
