Gaza - Saba:
The Director General of Field Hospitals in Gaza, Marwan Al-Hamas, announced that the number of children who died due to the severe cold has risen to 6 children. He pointed out that the sector suffers from a severe shortage in health services due to the destruction of hospitals, which hinders the provision of necessary treatment.
Al-Hamas added that hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip are not sufficient to serve citizens after they return to their homes, stressing the need to provide generators and oxygen stations urgently. He also explained that most patients need treatment outside the Strip, and that the percentage that has been transferred to Egypt does not exceed 1%.
In the same context, Nasser Medical Complex announced the death of an infant girl in Khan Yunis due to the severe cold. The head of the pediatric department at the complex, Ahmed Al-Farra, confirmed that newborns cannot withstand low temperatures, which threatens additional deaths.
It is worth noting that the Gaza Strip is suffering from a severe polar wave of cold, which has led to the destruction of tents and threatened the lives of displaced families.
