Araghchi announces new round of talks between Iran, Europeans

Tehran - Saba:

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced Wednesday that a new round of talks between his country and the European Troika countries began two days ago in Geneva, and these negotiations focused on nuclear issues and some other issues.

Tasnim International News Agency reported that Araghchi told reporters on the sidelines of the Iranian government meeting, Wednesday: Two days ago, a new round of talks with the European Troika countries began in Geneva, and these talks were on nuclear issues and some other issues.

He added "Talks with Europe will continue, and of course they have their own ups and downs. There are many questions and points that need to be answered, and the negotiations will continue."

Araghchi spoke about the Russian Foreign Minister's visit to Tehran and his talks, saying: "We held very detailed negotiations, and we talked in detail about all regional issues, and we held dialogue on a wide range of bilateral issues. Mr. Lavrov gave a detailed explanation of Russia's negotiations with the United States and its negotiations with others in the region.

The Iranian Foreign Minister added: "There was no message during this visit, and he was not supposed to carry any message."

In response to a question about Tehran's reaction to the US policy of restricting countries from cooperating with Iran, Araghchi continued, saying: "We do not negotiate under the influence of maximum pressure. The policy of maximum pressure is not new and has been tried once before and did not achieve positive results."

He added: "Iran has followed the path of progress for years without paying attention to sanctions; Iran will not negotiate with force, pressure, the language of threats and sanctions. Iran has proven that it will respond with the language of respect and dignity."

In response to a question about whether the Emir of Qatar carried a special message during his visit to Tehran, Minister Araghchi said: "There was no message, and we had consultations and consultations on regional issues. We are in regular contact with other regional countries; the nature of regional issues requires that we negotiate regularly with regional countries."
