Tehran - Saba:
Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami called on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to act as written in its statute, respect the rights of all peoples, be professional in its dealings, and stay away from politicized work and political bias."
Tasnim International News Agency reported that Eslami told reporters on Wednesday on the sidelines of an Iranian government meeting, "We are in contact with the IAEA and are under its control and the IAEA inspectors are carrying out inspections daily according to the set schedule.
The head of the Atomic Energy Organization added: "The construction of nuclear plants is in full swing and there is good activity in Bushehr. It takes seven to nine years to build a nuclear power plant, even with the necessary funds."
"We hope that by the end of the seventh development program, we will be able to complete 2,000 new megawatts and increase the country's nuclear capacity from 1,000 megawatts per hour to 3,000 megawatts per hour."
The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran spoke about threats against the country's nuclear centers, saying, "The threat to the country's nuclear industry is always present. Today and tomorrow, nuclear defense drills will be conducted at nuclear facilities. Iran is more resistant than the enemy imagines, and our infrastructure is not vulnerable."
On Iran's cooperation with the IAEA regarding safeguards questions, Eslami added: "The IAEA has obtained answers to safeguards questions, but there is a political will not to accept these answers. When the director general of the IAEA says that Iran should resolve its issues with Trump, it means that the issue is political and not technical."
