Maltese Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg has stressed that Gaza is Palestinian land, and the Palestinians must have the right to decide its future.

This came in a statement in response to a video created by US President Donald Trump, using artificial intelligence techniques, showing Gaza as a tourist destination that includes skyscrapers and luxury beach resorts, in addition to a golden statue of Trump himself.

Borg stressed that "Gaza belongs to the Palestinians", and that foreign policy "should be discussed through official channels and not through public statements, and that Gaza should belong to the Palestinians, and they should decide to implement the proposed projects."
