The United Nations expressed "deep concern" about the situation throughout the West Bank, and said that conditions have already reached emergency level.

The Director of the UN Human Rights Office in the occupied Palestinian territories, Ajith Sunjay, said in a statement to the UN News website: "It is no longer a matter of sounding the alarm about a state of emergency or violence and violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law in the West Bank... but we have already reached that stage."
