Abyan - Saba:
The local authority in Abyan province announced on Wednesday the reopening of Aqabat al-Mahalhal road, which connects Abyan and Bayda provinces.
They also expressed their readiness to reopen the strategic Aqabat Tharah Road, linking the same two provinces.
The authority emphasized its support for local and tribal initiatives aimed at alleviating citizens' suffering and reopening public roads.
They highlighted their previous unilateral initiative to reopen Tharah Road, in accordance with directives from the Houthi leadership, to ease travel between Lawdar and Mukayras districts and Bayda and Abyan provinces. However, they stated that "other parties" did not respond to this initiative.
Abyan local authority reiterated its willingness to reopen Tharah Road if the "parties loyal to the Saudi-American aggression" reciprocate. They emphasized their commitment to alleviating the suffering of citizens forced to use longer, alternative routes due to the continued closure of Aqabat Lawdar road.
They called on other parties to approach the road reopening initiative "rationally and responsibly," prioritizing citizens' interests during Ramadan. The authority also praised the efforts of local tribes and mediators in working to reopen closed roads and ease travel.
