Geneva – SABA:
The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric, stressed the urgent need to make every possible effort to maintain the ceasefire in Gaza to save lives and allow humanitarian aid to enter.
In a statement reported by the Palestinian News Agency on Monday, Spoljaric highlighted that the ceasefire agreement has saved countless lives and provided a beacon of hope amid unimaginable suffering. She warned that any breakdown in the progress achieved over the past six weeks would push people back into despair.
"As a neutral humanitarian intermediary, our teams have played a crucial role in facilitating the ceasefire agreement by carrying out vital operations safely at the request of the parties," Spoljaric stated. "We have never wavered in our commitment to this mission."
