China announced today, Saturday, that it successfully launched a Long March-2D rocket carrying a remote sensing satellite into space.
According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua, the carrier rocket was launched at 12:11 PM (Beijing time) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northwest of the country to send the "Gaoxin-3 02" satellite into its planned orbit.
The rocket also carried the "Tianyan-23" satellite. This mission marks the 564th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
