A meeting in Sana'a , chaired by Minister of Information Hashim Sharafeddine, discussed on Thursday urgent media directives on some topics on the current developments , events in Palestine and Yemen.
The meeting, which included Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti, Media Officer in the Office of the Leader Yahya Al-Mahtouri, officials of national public and private media sectors and a number of media elites, reviewed the media tasks included in the directives, which focused on activating, updating, amending and developing media plans that were prepared to deal with the propaganda activity and propaganda of the American, Zionist , British enemy media, and their tools and propaganda outlets.
The meeting discussed mechanisms for dealing with rumors and ways to confront and address them, with a focus on keeping the media work strong in the arena, and enhancing the role of mobilization on an ongoing basis.
At the meeting, the Minister of Information emphasized the gravity of the current stage that Yemen is going through in light of the escalation of the US enemy and the targeting of civilians, civilian objects, facilities, infrastructure, archaeological and historical sites and others.
He stressed the need for the audiovisual and print media to play their role in exposing the crimes of the American and Zionist enemy in Yemen and Gaza, and its attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause and dissuade Yemen from supporting the Palestinian resistance.
He pointed to the role of citizens in activating social media outlets , platforms to confront the hostile media escalation , counter the propaganda and misinformation, and to contribute more to and mobilization, stressing the keenness to strengthen the role of these outlets through media materials produced by national media outlets in order to strengthen the cohesion of the internal front and deepen the sense of responsibility.
The Information Minister called for developing media performance, innovating modern methods , confronting psychological warfare and media rumors broadcast by enemy media outlets, stressing coordination between all national public and private media outlets in fighting the media battle against the nation's enemies.
He spoke about the importance of the summer courses and the need for media outlets to keep up with their activities and focus on the creative fields of those enrolled in them, pointing out that communication media and platforms represent a modern addition to the media, have imposed themselves in a way that requires mastering their use and dealing with them as a new media pattern that has its own rules, methods and wide audience.
In turn, the Information Deputy Minister stressed the importance of everyone moving from the position of responsibility in carrying out the tasks assigned to the media, and keeping up with the honorable position of the Yemenis in supporting the Palestinian cause and the resistance in Gaza.
He considered the Yemeni media an important bulwark in defending Yemen and countering the enemies' myths and rumors, stressing the holiness of the role of media professionals for their great role in thwarting the plots of America , Israel , their tools in Yemen and the region in general.
Al-Mahtouri stressed the need for media professionals and journalists to be armed with the strength of faith, will and full awareness of the sanctity of the battle they are fighting against the tyrant of the age, pointing to the importance of strengthening the role of the media in mobilization, and keeping up with the activities of the summer sessions.
For his part, social media coordinator Dr. Ahmed Al-Shami stressed the importance of teamwork, unified action and cooperation to serve the national interest.
The meeting was enriched by an extensive discussion and important interventions by the attendees, which emphasized the need for everyone to feel the responsibility and work on coordination and networking to continue confronting the hostile media , its mouthpieces , countering its rumors and myths.
