Capital Mayor Dr. Hammoud Ubad on Monday inaugurated the Department of Operations, Intensive Care, and Children's Civilization at the martyr al-Hafi Medical Complex in al-Sabeen district. The project, costing $185,000, was supported by Qatari Red Crescent.
Dr. Ubad, accompanied by the Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee, Hammoud al-Naqeeb, and the Director of the Health and Environment Office in the Capital Mayor, Dr. Mutahar al-Marwani, toured the newly rehabilitated and equipped departments of Surgical Operations, Intensive Care, and Children's Civilization within the medical complex.
They received a briefing from the complex's director, Dr. Khaled Awad, on the medical equipment available in the various sections, the patient intake process, and the range of surgeries performed. Dr. Awad noted that the complex receives over 12,000 patient cases monthly.
The Secretary of the Capital emphasized the significance of the newly opened departments, stating they would represent a qualitative improvement in medical and health services, particularly surgical operations.
He highlighted the project as a significant achievement given the challenging circumstances the country faces due to the ongoing conflict. Dr. Ubad stressed the Capital Sana'a 's commitment to developing services across all medical centers and complexes to alleviate pressure on public hospitals.
Dr. Ubad commended the efforts of the health office leadership and the Al-Hafi Medical Complex in providing health and medical services, and expressed his appreciation for the Qatari Red Crescent's support for this vital project.
