Sana'a - Saba:
The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control convened a meeting on Tuesday to address challenges facing gold jewelry traders and workshops.
Chaired by the Authority’s Executive Director, Sam Al-Bashiri, and attended by gold shop owners and craftsmen, the meeting focused on the Authority’s efforts to resolve sectoral issues. Al-Bashiri emphasized the Authority’s commitment to streamlining services and simplifying procedures to support commercial and industrial segments, ensuring consumer protection against fraud and enhancing the national economy.
He highlighted the Authority’s provision of comprehensive logistical, administrative, and technical resources to deliver optimal services and consultations in this field, with particular attention to legal aspects of proposed solutions.
Al-Bashiri urged stakeholders to promptly register on the "Tasheel" (Facilitation) e-portal and utilize the Electronic Gold and Precious Metals System. This platform enables traders to obtain services efficiently while saving significant time and effort.
He further cautioned that the Authority "will not tolerate any manipulation of weights or legal standards" at gold jewelry outlets.
