Dhamar – Saba:

The Mawlid Al-Nabai Cup Sports Tournament for the year 1447 AH (1447 AH) was launched today in Dhamar Governorate, with wide participation from teams representing the governorates of Dhamar, Ibb, and Al-Bayda. The tournament was held under the patronage of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mawlid, and the Governor of Dhamar, Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti.

The tournament, organized by the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office, includes competitions in football, volleyball, taekwondo, athletics, kung fu, karate, swimming, and judo, and is part of the activities celebrating the Prophet's birthday.

During the launch, held at the Red Stadium in Dhamar City, Minister Al-Mawlid praised the governorate's initiative in launching the Mawlid Al-Nabi events, noting the excellence of Dhamar's youth and their potential to advance sports and society. He also emphasized the importance of investing in these events to consolidate faith identity and promote prophetic values.

For his part, Governor Al-Bukhaiti commended the Ministry's leadership's participation in the event, considering it an indicator of the ministry's serious interest in developing the youth and sports sectors. He called for these tournaments to be used to raise youth awareness and strengthen their connection to the Prophet Muhammad.

The opening ceremony featured a display of the participating teams, followed by the start of the football tournament with the participation of 12 teams divided into four groups. The Haziz Youth team began its journey with a strong 3-0 victory over Anas Sports, with Saddam Al-Absi scoring one goal and Mohammed Saafoud scoring two.
