Sana’a – SABA:
The General Authority for Antiquities and Museums released a new list today documenting looted Yemeni artifacts.
According to a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the authority reported that 53 stolen artifacts are currently on display at the Museum of Islamic Art in Kuwait.
This list marks the 27th installment in an ongoing series issued by the authority to monitor and trace Yemeni artifacts being exhibited in foreign museums and sold in international auctions.
The statement urged relevant international bodies to halt such auctions, citing violations of international laws regarding cultural property, and to return the looted artifacts to their rightful owner, the Yemeni people.
The authority also called on individuals with any information about stolen artifacts or looted archaeological sites to contact them via their official social media platforms.
