Gaza - Saba:
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy confirmed Tuesday that his country sent unarmed surveillance flights over the Gaza Strip, in order to locate the Zionist prisoners held by Hamas in Gaza.
Lammy said in a statement the Ministry of Defense is conducting surveillance flights over the eastern Mediterranean, including Gaza airspace.. noting that "these aircraft are unarmed, and their only mission is to locate the prisoners."
In a letter to the Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, Lammy explained that the ministry was working, in particular, to “ensure the safe and immediate release of British Emily Damary and three other prisoners with strong links to the United Kingdom, stressing that the ceasefire agreement in Gaza was “the best way to secure the release of all other prisoners.”
Regarding Israel’s compliance with international humanitarian law during the war on Gaza, Lammy claimed in the letter to the committee that “it was not possible to make an assessment of the extent to which the Israeli enemy complied with the principle of proportionality,” attributing this to “the complex and contested information environment in Gaza, as well as the difficulty of accessing specific and sensitive information.”
