California - Saba:
US media reported on Tuesday that efforts are continuing to search for missing people in the fire in Los Angeles, California, USA.
It reported that at least 24 people were reported missing in two major forest fires in Los Angeles County and sheriffs' deputies are searching for them, but their number often changes. Conditions are still dangerous in the burned areas and there is a real threat of other fires.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said "Despite the progress that has been made in some areas, residents still have to be careful."
Luna added "I don't want residents to think that everything is fine now.. Everything is not fine yet.. We will get to this point together, but I say again that the winds are still blowing and will continue to blow."
Four major fires across Los Angeles have killed 24 people, burned more than 38,000 acres and damaged at least 10,000 buildings. The Washington Post reported that the fires in Los Angeles have cost the city $150 billion.
