Madrid – SABA:
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has issued a warning to midfielder Pablo Gavi regarding his excessive aggression and highly competitive nature.
According to Marca, Flick is concerned about Gavi’s intense playing style and has advised him to stay composed in crucial moments.
Last week, during Barcelona’s match against Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, Flick had to substitute Gavi at halftime after he received a yellow card in the first half—a scenario not uncommon for the Andalusian player.
After the match, Gavi commented: “I was feeling some discomfort, but I also had a yellow card, and it wasn’t the right time to take risks. I spoke with the coach, and we agreed it was best to substitute me. I didn’t want to make a reckless tackle, as you know, referees don’t go easy on me—that’s why I was taken off.”
Gavi returned to action in late October after a long injury layoff, but he continues to play with his signature intensity, having already received five yellow cards this season.
