The Zionist occupation "army" withdrew from all border villages in southern Lebanon, except for five points in which it had announced that it would remain, coinciding with the expiration of the deadline for the ceasefire implementation between Lebanon and "Israel".
A security source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told AFP: "The Israeli army withdrew from all border villages, except for the five points, and the Lebanese army is deploying gradually, due to the presence of explosives in some places and damage to the roads."
On Tuesday morning, Al-Mayadeen's correspondent in southern Lebanon reported that Israeli occupation tanks and vehicles again inched towards the town of Kafr Shuba.
The Lebanese army began removing the earthen berm at the northern entrance to the town of Yaroun and opened the way for residents to enter the town.
The Lebanese Army Command issued a statement explaining that its forces were deployed in a number of towns (Abbasiyeh, Majidiyeh, Kafr Kila) in the eastern sector. And the towns of Adissa, Markaba, Houla, Mays al-Jabal, Blida, Mohibib, Maroun al-Ras and the remaining part of Yaroun in the central sector.
Lebanese Army forces deployed to other border locations in the South Litani area after the Israeli occupation withdrew.
The Israeli occupation "army" announced that it would "leave small numbers of troops in five strategic locations after the withdrawal date of February 18," namely: Tallat al-Awaida, Jabal Balat, Tallat al-Labouna, Tallat al-Izziyeh and Tallat al-Hamamis.
Ahead of the deadline, a Lebanese security official confirmed that Israeli forces began withdrawing from border villages on Monday night, with the Lebanese army advancing to deploy there.
"Zionist forces began withdrawing from border villages, including Mays al-Jabal and Blida, as the Lebanese army advanced," the Lebanese official said.
