Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed today, that Moscow does not reject a peaceful solution to the crisis in Ukraine, stressing that "the security of some cannot be guaranteed at the expense of others, and certainly not at our expense or at the expense of Russia."
During a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Federal Security Service, Putin said: "We do not reject dialogue on a radical solution to the Ukrainian crisis and other crises, by peaceful means," calling at the same time for additional measures to defend the borders of the Russian state.
He added: "The dynamic changes witnessed in the international scene today are largely the result of the courage and steadfastness of our armed forces, who created the conditions for starting a serious dialogue, a dialogue to resolve the Ukrainian crisis and other crises."
Putin noted that "the new contacts with the US administration give certain hope for a peaceful solution."
