Capitals - Saba:

Breakfast is one of the basic meals in life, which in turn affects energy and metabolism throughout the day, and it may be a major factor in the success or failure of weight loss.

A recent study revealed that some wrong breakfast habits may hinder the achievement of health goals, according to a report published by the "Health" website, which specializes in health and medicine, today, Saturday.

It is considered a mistake to permanently skip breakfast, as not eating it: may temporarily reduce calories, but it may later lead to overeating at night, which affects weight loss.

The second mistake is drinking sweetened coffee or any drinks that contain large amounts of sugar, which increases the risk of weight gain and diabetes.

The third mistake is choosing low-fiber meals, as fiber leads to a feeling of fullness for longer periods, so it is preferable to eat whole grains and fruits instead of pastries and processed baked goods.

Fourth, not eating enough protein at breakfast is unhealthy, because this substance helps regulate appetite and reduce calories consumed later.

It is also a mistake to rely on limited sources of protein, as protein sources can be diversified by adding legumes, nuts, and tuna to meals.

Relying on snacks with low nutritional value also leads to weight gain, as eating fast food such as donuts or biscuits leads to feeling hungry quickly and increasing the calories consumed.

Care must also be taken not to include healthy fats in breakfast meals because they contribute to enhancing satiety and supporting heart health, and these fats are available in several foods such as healthy nuts and avocados.

In a related context, health experts believe that eating insufficient amounts of food is harmful, because an unbalanced breakfast may lead to excessive hunger later, which leads to eating more calories during the day.

The ninth mistake is eating breakfast late, as eating food late in the day is associated with weight gain, so it is preferable to eat breakfast early to support the metabolism.

Finally, drinking water should not be neglected, because good hydration helps enhance the feeling of satiety and improve metabolism, which contributes to losing weight more effectively.
