The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the success of the Aerospace Forces in launching a Soyuz 2.1B rocket carrying a space device, today, Monday.
The Russian Defense Ministry said, in a statement, that the Russian Aerospace Forces launched the carrier rocket from the Plesetsk spaceport in the Arkhangelsk region, northern Russia.
The ministry did not reveal the type of space device or its missions, merely indicating that the launch was for the benefit of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
This launch comes within the framework of Russia's efforts to enhance its space capabilities, both in the military and civilian fields. The Soyuz 2.1B rockets are considered part of the modern generation of Soyuz rockets, and are distinguished by their ability to carry various satellites for communications, reconnaissance, navigation, and military uses.
