Sana'a - Saba:
The Third International Conference "Palestine: The Central Issue of the Nation" continued for the second consecutive day under the slogan "You are not alone" with local, Arab, and international participation.
On its second day, attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mawlid, and the Deputy Minister of Information, Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti, the conference discussed more than 87 research papers and scientific papers in 10 parallel sessions.
The first session, chaired by the Vice Chairman of the Conference Preparatory Committee, Dr. Ahmed Al-Arami, addressed 11 research papers and scientific papers.
The first group, presented by Dr. Jaafar Fadlallah, reviewed "The Role of University Mobility in the West - An Analytical Study," in which he addressed the nature of university and student activism in its societal context and drew a set of conclusions.
He pointed out that the student movement at 525 American universities witnessed more than four thousand student activities, in which university leaders and students participated, protesting the American policy of supporting the Zionist aggression against Gaza and demanding an end to the war on Gaza, the withdrawal of foreign investments from Israel, and the severing of ties with it.
Dr. Fadlallah emphasized that the student protests at American universities witnessed negative reactions from universities towards the movement, including negotiations with the movement's leadership, as well as widespread repression of these protests, the arrest of more than 3,600 male and female university students, the subjection of academic figures to accountability, and political and financial pressure on those leaders.
