Munir al-Barash, Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, said that the total number of martyrs and wounded since the start of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, has exceeded 50,021 martyrs and 113,274 wounded.
Al-Barash explained in a press statement today, Sunday, that among the martyrs are 15,613 children, 872 of whom did not complete their first year, while 247 of the martyred children were born and martyred during the genocidal war.
He added that approximately 7% of the total population of the Gaza Strip are now among the victims of the genocidal war, whether martyred or wounded.
He indicated that more than 25,000 of the injured require long-term rehabilitation and treatment, while the number of amputations has reached approximately 4,700, including approximately 850 children.
He emphasized that the situation in the Gaza Strip is heading for further deterioration in light of the ongoing closure and comprehensive blockade imposed by the occupation forces on the Gaza Strip, both on the health and humanitarian levels.
He explained that hospitals are no longer able to deal with the massive influx of casualties, given their lack of even the most basic medical equipment and capabilities amid the escalation of the Israeli aggression.
