Moscow - Saba:
Russian Foreign Ministry: Kyiv has violated the moratorium on targeting energy facilities more than 60 times
Alexey Polishchuk, Director of the Second Department for CIS Countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced on Saturday that Kyiv has violated the agreement on a 30-day moratorium on targeting energy facilities more than 60 times.
Sputnik quoted Polishchuk as saying: "The Kyiv regime is already viciously violating the 30-day moratorium on targeting energy facilities, which was agreed upon on March 18 by the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States (Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump), and subsequently supported by (Vladimir) Zelensky."
He pointed out that "since this agreement was reached, the Ukrainian side has violated it more than 60 times."
Polishchuk confirmed that attempts to strike Russian energy facilities occur daily and on multiple occasions.
He added: "This (the continued attacks on energy facilities) could occur for two reasons: either the order to cease bombing was not issued by Kyiv, or it was not implemented. Both possibilities are extremely worrying."
"We are witnessing a deliberate sabotage of the agreements (regarding the cessation of attacks on energy facilities), and if the order was issued and not implemented, the Ukrainian leadership is unable to control its forces," Polishchuk said.
On March 24, an expert meeting of technical teams from the Russian Federation and the United States was held in Riyadh, lasting more than 12 hours. During the meeting, representatives of the two countries agreed, among other things, to a temporary cessation of attacks on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine.
It is worth noting that on March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, held a joint phone conversation. According to the Kremlin, Trump proposed to both sides in the conflict in Ukraine a mutual 30-day refrain from attacks on energy infrastructure. President Putin supported this initiative.
Zelenskyy stated that "Ukraine will support the proposal to halt attacks on energy infrastructure."
However, the very next day, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Kyiv regime had attacked an oil depot in the Kuban region of Russia's Krasnodar Territory with drones.
For his part, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed that the Russian armed forces were refraining from striking energy infrastructure in Ukraine, despite Kyiv's violations.
