The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Monday that its forces targeted a meeting of the Ukrainian Seversk Operational-Tactical Group in Sumy with two Iskander-M missiles, killing more than 60 Ukrainian servicemen.

The ministry explained in a statement: "Yesterday, in the city of Sumy, the Russian Armed Forces, despite the activation of the rapid response mode by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, using electronic warfare and foreign air defense systems, launched a strike with two Iskander-M operational-tactical missiles at the site of a meeting of the command of the Seversk Operational-Tactical Group (Ukrainian)."
