New York - Saba:
The US authorities arrested a second Palestinian student at Columbia University in New York City on Tuesday because of his positions on the Zionist genocidal war on Gaza.
ABS quoted lawyer Luna Droubi as saying that her client, Mohsen al-Mahdawi, was arrested while he was reviewing the immigration office for the procedures for obtaining US citizenship.
Mahdaoui has been a legal resident of the United States for ten years, and was arrested while he was at the Vermont immigration office to finalize the last stage of the citizenship procedures.
Droubi said : "Al Mahdaoui's arrest during the naturalization process is unlawful and a violation of his constitutionally guaranteed right to freedom of expression.
Born and raised in the West Bank, Mahdaoui entered the United States in 2014 with legal status and has since held a residency permit and is expected to graduate from Columbia University next month, according to the petition to the court.
